Hotel Description

Welcome to the Beili Helyg Guest House, we provide exceptionally luxurious and very comfortable 4Star Bed and Breakfast accommodation and self guided walks in Wales. The three guest rooms are in a renovated 18th Century stone farm building in a secluded and very rural location. There are fabulous open views of surrounding unspoilt countryside in every direction. This is a very tranquil and peaceful part of the world and we can provide guests with their great escape from the rigours of everyday life. Our 3 rooms are all individual, ensuite, furnished with antiques and guests have their own access to allow you to come and go as you like. We pride ourselves of our delicious and high quality breakfast using our own produce ( eggs, jams and preserves) and fresh local ingredients. We encourage guests to explore our 16 acres of woodland and meadows, and meet the local wildlife. We are a short walk from the open access area of the Brecon Beacon National Park. Guests can take advantage of our extensive knowledge of the local area and we are happy to help you plan your trip, and can provide maps with walking and cycling routes to suit all abilities. This is the central area of the National Park, close to the spectacular Ystradfellte waterfalls and caves, the high peaks of Pen y Fan, and the Taff trail walking and cycling routes. Relax on front of our log fire in the guest lounge, enjoy stunning views over the ancient Cwm Cadlan valley, and recharge your batteries with a good night's sleep. This beautifully refurbished 18thC Welsh longhouse has won an award for its eco-credentials, but never compromises on comfort. The perfect place to escape from it all.

A Fantastic Find
We had a fantastic short break here at the end October / start of November. Mike and Caroline are such wonderful hosts, full of local knowledge and advice on the best walks and places to go, whatever the weather. Incredible location, fabulous breakfasts, amazing cake, a roaring fire - what more could you want? And we managed to walk under Sgwd yr Eira! We had a great time. Thanks!

Excellent
Beili Helyg is a truly lovely place to stay. The accommodation is cosy and immaculate, and our room (the cornstore) had fantastic views across the countryside. Mike and Caroline were wonderful hosts, and cook a mean breakfast: definitely have the full shebang with the duck egg - hearty and delicious!

Wonderful Place To Stay
My friends and I had the great pleasure of staying at Beili Helyg for a couple of days, an absolutely fantastic place in the perfect location for our trek around Waterfall Country in the Brecons. All of us were so impressed with the stunningly beautiful rooms with their ornate furnishings and trinkets, and the huge but cosy lounge with its fireplace; the perfect place to curl up and chat with a cup of tea. Both Caroline and Mike were excellent hosts, and served up a terrific breakfast each morning that kept us going all day. We could not be more impressed with Beili Helyg, and heartily recommend it to visitors travelling through Wales. It was the icing on the cake of a wonderful weekend in Wales.

Thank you so much for the lovely review, it was fantastic to meet you all and welcome you to Beili Helyg. Thank you also for the amazing photographs of the waterfalls, they were truly beautiful, with gushing water over the falls and lots of autumn leaves floating in the quiet areas. Quite makes me want to put my boots on and wander over there to have another visit. Thanks again, Mike & Caroline

Short But Very Sweet
We had only one night's stay but it was wonderful. The accommodation was superb, the welcome very warm and the food lovely. The guesthouse is the best I have stayed in and is in beautiful surroundings.

Idyllic Getaway
This is a wonderful location, especially for those who want a break from the city. We took the train to Aberdare and the bus to Penderyn. The walk from Penderyn to Cwm Cadlan makes a perfect start to a quiet holiday in the country. Mike and Caroline provided expert guidance and maps for our walks in the area, and then served us amazing food for dinner.

Hi Sally, we really enjoyed having your lovely family to stay. We were particularly pleased you got some fabulous weather and made the most of it by taking a dip in the river near the waterfalls, which is always exhilarating. The waterfalls are well worth a visit whatever the weather, and are a lot more impressive when it's been raining. With warmest regards Mike & Caroline

Excellent Place To Stay
The accommodation was excellent as was the food (home made jam), the location was great for walking and waterfalls.

Thank you so much for the review, you had some lovely weather for walking the hills and along the waterfall valleys. The jam making is particularly prolific this year due to the massive strawberry crop, and also the gooseberries are fabulous. Whatever the fruit, it tastes great on toast or scones. It was lovely to meet you. Kind regards Mike & Caroline

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Beili Helyg. It was the perfect place from which to explore the Brecon Beacons (& the nearby Penderyn distillery!) Our room was wonderfully comfortable and the food (both breakfast & evening meal) were hearty and delicious. But best of all was the fantastic hospitality shown by Mike & Caroline. Beili Helyg
Stayed for 2 nights with two friends, though it might be pushing it to call us a 'group of adults'. Stunning building, stunning location. Caroline and Mike very friendly. Tons of information about local walks - a lot of thought has been put into making sure guests know what the options are for hiking etc. Excellent value. Very highly recommended.
