Very Dated
nice place but dated. Unfortunately we did not get breakfast as we had to get an early ferry. No offer of packed lunch or 7am breakfast. I wouldnt stay there again. No money off either.

Response from Hotel
Sorry you didn\'t enjoy your visit with us, the house was renovated and refurbished just over a year ago in a traditional style which obviously isn\'t to your taste. The price set is for the room with breakfast however you left before 7am which is before breakfasts start. At no point did you discuss any other option or packed lunch as you were in a rush to get out when you arrived late and hadn\'t eaten.

An Absolute Delight!
Set in an idyllic location, Hawthorn B & B is a place to relax and enjoy being out of the rat race. June and Willie are wonderful hosts, making you feel at home. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and I enjoyed my time there very much.

Pleasant Surprise
We stayed in the Garden cottage and really enjoyed the stay. Would have liked a better frying pan, but that was the only " complain". Pleasant owners and pleasant surroundings.

Good Place To Stay
Nice place with better than average accommodation. Location beautiful with lots of wildlife in and around the garden. 15 mins Oban, 15 mins Taynuilt 5 mins Connel bridge, 5mins Apin. Convenient for many places in one of the most scenic areas. A lovely welcome from the friendly owners. Breakfast OK with all the usual choices and a few more. Site is a bit isolated but there is plenty of safe parking and a very good restaurant next door, literally one minutes walk door to door. Wise to book a table here. Worth a visit.

Very Nice Experience
I would recommend the Howthorn cottage to everyone. The owners have done the business for more than 40 years. They know very well how to make their guests comfy and pleasant on their property. There is a huge farmland in front of the house. My 2 years old son was so excited to see lots of sheep and sleep by them. Another kids-would-love place is Scottish sealife centre which is only miles away. The ticket lasts 7days long! Kids won't get bored staying at Hawthorn Cottage.

Excellent B&b
We stayed for a week at hawthorn and found the owners. Willie and June to be very polite and kind nothing was to much trouble for them, they gave us excellent tips on what and where to go during our stay. The food was excellent at breakfast and very ample portions were provided and a good selection of choices. The whole house was spotless and kept very neat and tidy I would recommend this B&B to anyone you will not be disappointed.

Our stay at Hawthorn Cottages was excellent! We were not expecting a full kitchen and living room in our cottage, which was fantastic. Breakfast was delicious, and the conversation with the other guests was just what we were looking for. Waking up to highland cows and sheep were an exciting added bonus! It was perfect, and we wouldn't change a thing about the experience!

Almost Catastrophic ... But Finaly No ... Thank You Very Much
Following a problem with our reservation, we hadn't a room to sleep there that night !!! After a lot of phone calls to find a solution Mrs Hawthorn transformed her lounge room in a bedroom placing two single beds to be able to welcome us....and asked to other residents to share their bathroom (we were staying only one night). Thank you very much to have find that solution...sleeping in the car is very uncomfortable...!

Excepted that unintentional problem, the B&B is very clean, tidy, the scottish breakfast is excellent.

We recommend warmly this B&B

Absolutely outstanding B&B near Oban. Friendly and welcoming without being intrusive, I'd recommend this to anyone looking for modern accommodation away from the hustle and bustle of the town. There is a restaurant which we didn't have to time to check out but we definitely will do so next time. Hawthorne Cottage is a real find.

Hawthorne Cottage B And B
This is an excellent B and B which offers more than could be reasonably expected and at a very reasonable price. The owners are very pleasant and helpful and it is in a lovely area. The icing on the cake is that there is a very good restaurant right next door.

Overnight Stay
Homely and friendly B+B out a bit from Oban which suited us fine but very convenient for the Oban to Mull ferry. Comfortable, clean and a good breakfast. Our twin room had a wee private sitting room attached which was great however a third bed had been put in the for next visitors - I was asked about it but stupidly didn't object. It reduced the use of the sitting room for us - only one of us could sit in there and watch TV and it made it a bit tight getting to and from the bathroom. Otherwise would recommend this b+b.

Our stay at the Hawthorn B&B, was excellent. Our room was nice & clean , every comfort was catered for.The owner made herself known to us and we exchanged pleasantries .Our questions on how far it was to the beach / edge of the loch were quickly answered . We took our evening dinner at the local restaurant and we found the food beautiful . The beakfast in the morning was more than adequate , with a full Scottish on the cards.

As my daughter had explained to your son i had no access to bookings and unfortunatley two bookings came through at the same time, therefor i relocated your son to my daughters property which is to the same standard and is also STB 4 Star

Excellent Stay
Nice stay with very gracious hosts. The cottage (3 adults in our group) was clean, nicely decorated and well equipped. It suited our needs exceedingly well. The adjoining restaurant was very convenient and excellent. The breakfast was superb and served in a lovely comfortable room.

The only suggestion for improvement would be much better wifi service in the cottage.

We would come back in a heartbeat.

Serene Setting, Perfect Hosts
The Hawthorn B&B enjoys a delightfully calm setting, nestled between a field of sheep and lambs and a field with a highland cow and her calf. It was wonderful to wake up to bird songs and lambs bleating and to look out on the pretty garden and green hills. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, making it feel like visiting welcoming folks you've known for years. The bed was firm, shower pressure excellent, and rooms seemed well insulated from each other. The fruit salad at breakfast was fantastically fresh and tasty, as was everything that followed (muesli, scrambled eggs, toast, etc.). A beach is an easy walk down the driveway, to the right, then second left straight to the shore, well worth it to listen to the soft waves and enjoy a stroll in the fresh air while taking in the lovely scenery. It is a great place to get away from it all and enjoy the tranquility of the countryside.
