Cute Little B&b
We have recently stayed here when visiting Edinburgh for a long weekend. The B&B was fairly easy to find with a parking space, too (works on a first come first serve basis and should have been stated when we booked it. Luckily, there was one space left on our arrival). It wasnt necessary to drive into Edinburgh city centre which was a bonus. The hosts were lovely and helpful, showed us to the room (#4) which was facing the garden making it very quiet. The room was very clean, especially the bathroom, with essential toiletries, plenty of towels, slippers, cotton pads, etc. The only dowside it the strength of the shower which is not very powerful, but it didnt bother us that much. Rooms were cleaned every day, towels changed every other day which was absolutely fine with us. The room was fairly spacious, enough room for a suitcase (or 2 or more),with big sash windows, double bed, wardrobe, vanity table, tv, hairdrier, tea&coffee, kettle, etc. There was also a big fireplace in the room, too. There was a good choice of breakfast options with a cereal bar and fruits in the dining room. Breakfast had to be preordered in advance the day before which wasnt a problem. Overall I would highly recommend this B&B for everyone who is not keen on hotels and prefer a more intimate and homely room and service. Hosts are very pleasant and looking after their guests to their best ability.

Short Break To See My Daughter In Edinburgh.
Beautiful period property with original features retained.

Credit to Ivy for a very warm welcome and pleasant comfortable couple of days. Not to far out of city centre if you wanted to walk in, and buses every few minutes into town. Could not fault this b&b and would highly recommend to anyone and It will be the one I will us again.

A Perfect Hotel With No Complaint
A very nice hotel; spacious & spotlessly clean. But the more important is the friendly & helpful hosts, Ivy & Xia. We were accepted to check in even about 2 hours earlier than the scheduled time. Ivy prepared Chinese porridge for my husband when he was sick in the morning. The medicine provided from the host also helped to ease his sickness a lot.

Absolutely Womderful
My husband and I stayed here for one night In August and immediately were impressed from the moment we arrived. The location is on a quiet street but within walking distance of everything. Our room had a fantastic view of Arthur's Seat and was very clean. As far as service goes, the owners made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and even let us borrow one of their personal chargers for our phones. The breakfast the next morning in the quaint and sunny tea room was the perfect way to start the day exploring the city. Speaking of that, even after we checked out, they held our bags for us until we left Edinburgh! If I return, I will definitely stay here again. It is a must!

Attention To Detail Appreciated
Lovely big room with high ceilings- a bit noisy though if you left the windows open as it faced busy Dalkeith Rd. Very clean, nice bathroom, well-stocked tea and coffee tray included hot chocolate and biscuits. Great breakfast with a wide choice. Thanks Ivy!

Beautiful B&b
We visited Edinburgh during the fringe and were lucky enough to find one room available at Gladstone House.

The accommodation is beautifully decorated, comfortable and the breakfasts were wonderful.

The B&B is a short bus ride into the city centre and is ideally located a short walk from Arthurs Seat.

I highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful B&b
Gladstone House was the perfect place to stay for visiting Edinburgh. The home itself is beautiful, and the rooms really lovely. Breakfast every morning was a real treat. The location is perfect whether you want to walk, bus, or cab into the city centre. Our only criticism is having a short window for breakfast, while also not being allowed to have hot food in the room, making it difficult when we missed dinner. Otherwise wonderful. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay.

Lovely Accommodation- I Recommend It To Everyone
It was such pleasure to have stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with my mother. The owners are great, helpful and lovely! The rooms are comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was tasty and very satisfying. The hotel is 15 mins walk from the centre. It is close to a lot of attractions.

Accommodation in Edinburgh is very expensive. Taking this into account, I can tell that I found a good bargain on the Internet for this hotel. All in all, I am very satisfied and would definitely stay there again!!

A Lovely Experience
The room was clean and very pretty, and full of little treats.

The staff was extremely kind, caring and helpful. They greeted us with a warm welcome, provided us with maps of the city, a bus guide and a guide of restaurants around the area, and explained everything we needed to know about the building and our room.

The breakfast was good, the dining room was really nice and relaxing, and the menu offered a quite large range of choices.

Overall we just had a very lovely experience staying at Gladstone House, and it's certainly going to be one of our top choices for staying in Edinburgh the next time we come in town.

The Museum of Scotland is a striking and impressive achievement, beautifully framed by its surroundings, by Edinburgh's Old and New Towns, and the landscape beyond. From the Museum's roof-top garden visitors will have an unrivalled view of the historical as well as architectural context of the new building. Edinburgh Castle , Greyfriars Kirk, the Scott Monument , the spires and pinnacles of the city, the sea, and the hills beyond interact with the new museum, reinforcing its role as a central point in the nation's heritage, a protector of Scotland 's treasures. In 1991 architects Benson + Forsyth were selected as winners of the architectural competition to design the new Museum of Scotland .

This is an example of an early high-rise which housed diverse social classes. The merchant and his family would have lived in two of the apartments while the others would have been rented to another merchant, a minister, a knight and a guild officer.Gladstone's Land provides a unique opportunity to experience how people lived and worked in Edinburgh's Old Town over 300 years ago. A majestic landmark which dominates the capital city's skyline just as it has dominated Scotland's long and colourful history. Edinburgh Castle is the best known and most visited of Historic Scotland's buildings. Perched on an extinct volcano and offering stunning views, this instantly recognisable fortress is a powerful national symbol, and part of Edinburgh's World Heritage Site. A rich mix of architectural styles reflects the castle's complex history and role as both stronghold and seat of Kings. The tiny St Margaret's Chapel, Edinburgh's oldest building, dates from the 1100s.

Edinburgh is the breathtakingly beautiful capital of Scotland, an exciting place to visit at any time of year. Edinburgh offers you superb sightseeing, historic buildings to explore, quiet galleries and museums to intrigue you, thrilling new attractions to discover, serious shopping, a vast choice of excellent Restaurants, Bistros, Wine Bars, Pubs and Cafes, and nightlife to suit all tastes. When the Picts built a fort on a volcanic crag in the 5th century, to protect Scotland from the invading Angles of Northumberland, Edinburgh's history began. The present Castle, was built on the site by Michael Canmore (1057-93); his wife St. Margaret, built the chapel which you can still visit today.
